CHORAL MUSIC PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENTVenue: Faith Presbyterian, Tallahassee, Florida
MPA stands for Music Performance Assessments. These events provide valuable feedback on a range of musical formats. Each FVA district hosts two MPA events annually: Solo & Ensemble MPA in November and Choral MPA in early March.
High school entries that receive a superior rating at districts are qualified to apply for State MPA. At this event, students are evaluated by a highly select panel of adjudicators at a state-level adjudication.
Surfside Middle School Choir is planning a field trip for adjudication in the afternoon of March 2025. The trip will take place during the school day. Students must complete the required paperwork, maintain a grade of C or higher in every academic course, and submit a signed parent permission form to attend.

Hey there! This is a friendly reminder that the chorus banquet is just around the corner. It will be a blast, and you won’t want to miss out! The event is happening on May 8, 2025. Tickets are $15 each, but only $9.99 for 8th graders. Grab your tickets in advance using the order form attached below. See you there!

FVA’s well-known festival program, Solo & Ensemble, attracts over 100,000 students from every county in Florida each year. Participants often keep their medals for life and proudly display them at graduation. Through Solo & Ensemble, students learn the discipline of rehearsal, improve their musical skills, and have the opportunity to perform in front of an audience and receive feedback. Those who excel at the district level can advance to the State Solo & Ensemble Festival.
Each year, over 32,000 students (in 11,000+ events) qualify at district festivals to perform at the State Solo & Ensemble festival, making it one of the nation’s largest events of its kind. They represent the talent and high-quality music programs in Florida’s schools.
