Music Appreciation class is an eighteen-week (one semester) course that embarks on a fascinating musical journey through time! From the ancient hieroglyphics on cave walls, the discovery of the first instruments made of bone, to the beautiful music of Sergei Rachmaninoff, you will journey through medieval times, the Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, and will conclude within the Romantic Era. Surfside’s Music Appreciation class will immerse you in the diverse and captivating music world. Discover the various styles, forms, and composers while analyzing music’s profound emotional impact on listeners. You’ll also master basic music notation, dynamics, and sight-reading, with the exciting opportunity to practice with musical instruments. Get ready to experience the magic of music like never before!
